Four in a Row

Four in a Row is a strategy game where players drop colored pieces into a vertical grid, trying to be the first to connect four of their pieces in a row. The four pieces can line up horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. Players can challenge the computer on easy, medium, or hard, or play against a second player. While the rules are simple, the game encourages mathematical thinking for K–5 learners. Students practice pattern recognition, logical reasoning, and strategic planning as they think ahead about where pieces will land and how to create or block a line of four. Each move requires prediction and decision-making, helping players develop spatial awareness and problem-solving skills that are closely connected to mathematical thinking.
