Sand Blocks

Sand Blocks is a puzzle game where colorful sand shapes fall from the top of the screen, and players must rotate and move them into position before they land. The goal is to create a continuous path of the same colored sand stretching from the left side of the board to the right side. The challenge is that the shapes are made of sand, so they do not keep their form when they land. Instead, the sand shifts and slides as it settles, creating new patterns and possibilities. When a complete color connection is formed across the board, that line of colored sand clears, opening up space for new pieces. This game develops K–5 mathematical thinking by encouraging students to use spatial reasoning, geometry, and prediction skills. Players must visualize how rotating shapes will fit together and anticipate how the sand will move after landing. The game also strengthens pattern recognition, strategic planning, and problem-solving as students experiment with different placements to create successful color connections.
