Step Spots

Step Spots by Elio Landa challenges players to move shapes, rhombuses and circles, across a grid to collect dots. Each shape has its own movement rules: rhombuses slide horizontally or vertically, while circles move diagonally. Players must plan their paths carefully because shapes can only move into spaces that contain a dot, and although some spaces hold multiple dots, only one is collected per move, allowing for strategic backtracking. As levels progress, special spaces appear that can switch a shape from circle to rhombus or vice versa, unlocking new pathways and movement possibilities. This puzzle structure naturally supports mathematical thinking as players explore coordinate-like grid reasoning, sequencing, logic, and problem-solving. Students practice predicting outcomes, analyzing patterns, and planning efficient step, core concepts in K–5 mathematics.
